The prompt: This wasn’t where he wanted to be
My story:
Five nights. Five
nights in a row now he’d sat in the same spot on this couch playing video
games. He had been so sure this was what he wanted. Time. Time alone, to do what
ever he wanted. He had expected a feeling of freedom, not this crushing weight
on his heart. Not the doubt overshadowing every thought and every action. What
had he done? This wasn’t where he wanted to be. He wanted to be with her, but
was he too late? There was only one way to know. He grabbed his coat and ran
out the door.
