WonHundred Word Wednesday: Father's advice

It's Wednesday people! That means that I have another super short story for you all.

This week's prompt: She decided to go to her father's grave, to ask his advice.

My story:

Angie decided to go to her father's grave, to ask his advice. He had always given the best advice. She knelt near the headstone, grass now covering the place where he lay.

“Hi Dad. It’s me again. Big news: Steve asked me to marry him. I love him so much, but I need to know you approve. Can you send me some kind of a sign, please? I love you, Dad.”

A familiar voice sounded nearby.

“I love you too, Angie.”

She looked up and saw him standing next to her, alive and whole.

“Dad?”

He smiled, “I’ve missed you.”

Now go check out every one else's stories too.

WonHundred Word Wednesday: Twenty years

Here we are again! Wednesdays keep coming faster and faster. I can't believe it's here all ready. I won't keep you waiting any longer.

This week's prompt: He had waited twenty years to return it.

My story:

He stopped dead in his tracks, his heart mimicking his feet before springing back to life. There had only been a glimpse, but he was sure of the face he'd seen. Urging his feet to movement, he rushed through the crowded mall.

She appeared again and he moved faster, eager not to miss his chance. He caught her hand, relieved that it was bare. She turned, her eyes filled with shock. It had been twenty long, regret-filled years since she had given him a precious gift. And he had waited far too long to return it.

“I love you, too.”

I hope you've enjoyed this week's story, and I hope you'll take a few minutes to enjoy the other stories posted by these awesome writers as well.

WonHundred Word Wednesday : Spare some change

Here we are, Wednesday already. It sure comes around quick!

This week's prompt: Spare some change please?

My story:

It happened before she could even reach out a hand to stop it. There was no going back now, she would have to comply. That or face the music, the music that sounded more like a tortured soul, screaming and clawing at every inch of her. She sighed reluctantly, rummaged for the necessary payment and froze when she realized she was short. She glanced around, tempted to ask a stranger for assistance.

A solitary customer walked by, scorn on his face.

So she would endure the screaming.

She reached for her toddler, seated on the grocery store ride.

The wailing began.

This week's story was inspired by my own little toddler. We almost had a fit in the mall last week over some of these rides. Luckily, he held it together. :) Make sure you check out everyone else's stories!

Thanks for reading!

WonHundred Word Wednesday: Strange wailing

It is Wednesday again, friends! I love Wednesday (and Tuesday when I get to write these stories)! This week, I want to give a big thank you to everyone who has come here to read my stories. It means a lot to me to have family and friends who support me! Anyway, here you are:

The prompt: There was a strange wailing sound coming from the next room

My story:

The room came into focus as she slowly opened her eyes. In the dim light from the grimy window, she could see the rusty bars and the dirt hall beyond. She tried to push herself up but was pulled down by the weight of the chains around her wrists. Her heart pounded as fear filled her. What had she done?

There was a strange wailing sound coming from the next room.

“Who’s there?” She called.

A forlorn moan was the only response.

“Please, can you help me?”

A gravelly voice answered, “I cannot help you, no one leaves here alive.”

Check out everyone else's stories and leave me a comment!
