WonHundred Word Wednesday: When she opened the door

At last! I'm caught up (with recent prompts anyway) and have a wonderful story for you this week. And as a bonus you get to read my brother's take on the prompt too! Here we go!

The prompt: When she opened the door, she wished

My story:

A knock roused Sage from her thoughts. A glance at the clock told her it was late and she should’ve been up hours ago. But heartbreak makes you do things like stay in bed all morning and eat chocolate all night. She’d been so sure of her future, so sure he’d want her forever. Being wrong had never hurt more.

When she opened the door, she wished she’d at least gotten dressed. She could see her own sadness reflected in his eyes. Without a word he reached for her, smothering her pain with a kiss full of apologies and promise.

Corey's story:

She pulled the keys out of the ignition, hands sweating. What am I going to tell him? She sat in the car for a few moments, trying and failing to dispel her nerves.

Well…it’s not going to get better if I wait longer.

She finally left the car and walked, almost trembling, to the house. She took a steadying breath, then grabbed the doorknob and twisted.

When she opened the door, she wished she were anywhere else. He looked right into her eyes with a look of anger and disappointment.

He knows.

She looked down. “I got a speeding ticket.”

For some reason, his story makes me think of our little sister. :) Not that's she's ever had a speeding ticket, but still.
As always, make sure you check out the other stories! Enjoy!

WonHundred Word Wednesday: Lock in the dark

Here's another make up one faithful readers!

The prompt: She felt for the lock in the dark.

My story:

When Alaina opened her eyes, she wasn’t even sure she actually had. The darkness surrounding her was as black as her sleep had been. Her eyes refused to adjust, and her legs wobbled as she stood. The rough walls scratched her palms as she searched for a light finding none. At last the stone smoothed into what felt like a door. She felt for the lock in the dark, but the door was bare. No lock, no handle.

Panic set in, her mind racing. Only one person would do this to her. The question was: how had he found her?

WonHundred Word Wednesday: Just a fling

Hey everyone, I've been a slacker again and needed to catch up, so here's my story from two weeks ago. Check it out!

The prompt: It would only be a fling.

My story:

It would only be a fling. Just a harmless little fling. She repeated this mantra repeatedly, convincing herself it was true.

Though a corner of her mind whispered it was false. Muttered that if she indulged, even just this once, the repercussions could be dreadful. Or they could be blissful and sweet. She eyed the temptation, weighing the consequences. The lies, the money, the relaxation, the peace.

Taking a deep breath, she pushed the confirm button on the Hawaiian vacation package. The plane would leave tomorrow. Exhilaration filled her as she called her boss, trying her best to sound sick.

WonHundred Word Wednesday: House wasn't the same

It's a little late on Wednesday, but it's still Wednesday! Here's my story for the day!

The prompt: The house wasn't the same to her any more

My Story:

Rachel watched from the corner as the couple entered the room. She could feel the anger rising steadily in her chest. Their belongings were piled everywhere, careless of the time and energy she’d put into the home. Her heart and soul had gone into designing it, yet fate’s cruel hand had taken it away.

The house wasn't the same to her any more, and with those people here, it never would be. She’d have to make them leave and ensure that no one would move in again.

She wasn’t worried. After all, no one wants to live with a ghost.

Hope you like it, and don't forget to check out the rest!

WonHundred Word Wednesday: The attack

It's Wednesday!! Here's my newest 100 word story, and the prompt is a great one!

The prompt: The attack was over in seconds

My story:

It hit hard, completely blindsiding her. A tidal wave brought on by the smallest pebble dropped into the pool of desire.

The attack was over in seconds, but once she started she found it impossible to stop. Weeks of progress lost in only a few moments.

A groan escaped her lips as she thought of the repercussions.

She lay on her back, one hand draped over her eyes, the other clenching her stomach. The empty bag sat crumpled beside her, a reminder of her lack of self-control.

“Curse you M&M’s!” she whispered, even as she wished for just one more.

I hope you liked it! Don't forget to check out what the others wrote:
