WonHundred Word Wednesday: Interruption

It's Wednesday, everyone! Celebrate with me by reading some awesome 100 word stories today. This one is dedicated to my mom, who helped inspire me.

The prompt: The urge to interrupt him before he had finished was overwhelming

My Story:

Whoever had decided to hold our yearly training outside in July was clearly insane. It wasn’t my fault I had yawned, but my boss’ normally red face turned bright scarlet, and his voice rang clearly across the park. It was then that I saw the large spider on his collar.

The urge to interrupt him before he had finished his tirade was overwhelming, yet I waited, watching the spider inch its way onto his neck. Its long hairy legs scuttled into his ear. I cringed, and his yelling increased.

Maybe I wouldn't tell him about his new fuzzy friend after all.

WonHundred Word Wednesday: The pink glove

Welcome, wonderful readers to WonHundred Word Wednesday! Let's get to it, shall we?

This week's promptThe pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered

My story:

“There, Princess, what do you think of that one?”

My fingers ache from lacing up gowns, but of course, she has to look “perfect.”

She stands in front of the mirror, a sour look on her face. “I don’t know! And it is time to leave! Find my other glove,” she orders.

The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered by one of several discarded gowns. I quickly pull the dress over it, hiding my smile. “I’m sorry; you’ll have to go without it.”

She stomps her foot.  “Life’s not fair!”

I, her handmaid, know this is too true.

Let me know what you think in the comments, and be sure to check out the other author's posts! Have a great day!

WonHundred Word Wednesday: It was time.

It's the most wonderful time of the week! That's right, it's Wednesday again! I dedicate this week's story to all my WWW friends, but hope everyone else will like it too!

The prompt: It was time. She had fought against it for so long.

My Story:

Minutes turned to hours and hours turned to days. Try as she might, she couldn't wrestle this beast. It spoke to her, taunting her, teasing the corners of her mind. Others had emerged victorious, thus adding to the pressure to succeed.

It was time. She’d fought against it for so long, but she could wait no longer. It was already the midnight hour. She gingerly placed her fingers on the keyboard; staring down her opponent, so small, yet so powerful. Her vision blurred as she willed her mind to create. It was only 100 words. She only needed 100 words.

There you have it dear readers! Writer's block is an ever looming threat which must be conquered! Leave me a comment and don't forget to read these other awesome stories.

WonHundred Word Wednesday: Just one night

Here we are again. Another WonHundred Word Wednesday! This week, I'm taking you back in time to the year 1820 in England.

The prompt: It was just for one night.

My story:

Emiline anxiously entered the ballroom. She saw him instantly. He smiled at her, sending her heart racing. She drew in a breath, steadying herself. This would be more difficult than she imagined. But his future and her reputation depended on his believing she had changed her mind.

No matter that his grandfather coerced her into this scheme.

No matter that her feelings remained firm.

No matter that her heart was irrevocably his.

For tonight, she must not love him. Tomorrow he would leave for London, and she would be left with her broken heart. Drawing her courage, she approached him.

I hope you liked it and I love to read your comments. (I believe the settings are fixed so anyone can comment now, if you still can't comment, send me an email and I'll try again.) As always, make sure you check out the other's take on this prompt. They are always fantastic!

WonHundred Word Wednesday: The necklace

WooHoo! It's Wednesday! If you're new this week, here's what we do. Myself and an AWESOME group of writers all get a short prompt and write a 100 word story based on that prompt. We all post our stories on our blogs, so that you, dear readers, can see the amazing directions each story goes. It's been so much fun being a part of this group, and I hope you all are enjoying the journey as much as I am.

Anyway, without further ado, this week's prompt: She had to find the necklace, before...

My story:

She had to find the necklace, before the king realized it was gone.

Amber hurried through the castle, searching every corner and crevice. Fear crept up inside her.

“Why did I take it? I knew I shouldn’t take it.”

Technically, since her mother had passed away fifteen years ago, the necklace was hers. But Amber knew the magic it held was far beyond her control. She only meant to wear it for a minute, but she’d become distracted. Princesses weren’t supposed to get distracted.

Then again, princesses weren’t supposed to lose the only thing that kept their kingdom safe either.
