Hey friends! Ir's WonHundred Word Wednesday, which means here's another bit of flash fiction! Enjoy!

The prompt: He was older than she'd thought he would be

My story:

Janette studied each table until she found the one with the yellow rose. The walk to the table seemed endless; she’d never been on a blind date before, much less with someone she met online.

“Hi, you must be Marco.” She said.

He was older than she'd thought he would be. What else had he lied about on his profile? Instead of offering her a seat, he stood and grabbed her arm. His dark eyes bored into hers, grave and intense.

“Marco isn’t coming. But you need to come with me. Now.” His gaze softened. “Your life depends on it.”

WonHundred Word Wednesday: Secrets

Here you are dear readers! 

The prompt: He looked at his phone, turned pale, then quickly left the room.

My story:

Jason sat in the café, sipping his coffee, waiting. A beep sounded from his pocket. He looked at his phone, turned pale, then quickly left the room. “Where are you?” the text read. How could he have forgotten she’d be home early tonight?

Racing home, heart pounding, he searched for an excuse. He had kept her in the dark for so long, he couldn’t blow it now.

Pulling up the drive, he stepped into the role of faithful husband. His cool demeanor and smooth lie hid his nerves. But her kiss assured him she still knew nothing of his secret.

Two weeks in a row! In case you are wondering, "What is WonHundred Word Wednesday?" Wonder no more. It is a writing exercise that several of us writers do. Each week we write a 100 word story based on a prompt. We all use the same prompt and it's fun to see where the stories end up. So without further ado...

The prompt: It started with a chance meeting on a film set

My story:

Abby reached for the last donut when her hand collided with another. Both pulled back quickly and she looked up to see the hunky lead actor smiling down at her. As used to actors as she was, his smile and sparkling eyes made her stomach dance. She could see a romance unfolding. He’d offer her the donut and…

“Oops,” he said as he reached for it again.

What!? Abby snatched it and took a bite. “Oops.” She responded, turning away.

It started with a chance meeting on a film set, and came to an abrupt end. So much for romance.
